At the same time, the natural world in all of its complexity and excitement is one of the best places to be alone with your thoughts. There are many places where you can go outside and feel as though the motion and busyness of life feels non-existent. Spending time in this setting is life-giving, and encourages better mental and physical health
Students are the future of conservation
Many kids may have heard of conservation before, but many have a hard time understanding how they can apply it to their lives. We give campers a context for conservation in their lives today, and as they grow older. As campers understand how their environment impacts them in the present, and how it might in the future, they will better understand the "why" behind conservation, setting an optimistic course for the future.
Fishing builds good character
Fishing teaches numerous valuable life lessons that strengthen a person's character. Optimistic attitude, gratitude and contentment in our circumstances, and patiently waiting when it is difficult are just a few examples of this. Even more than fishing techniques and strategies, Fishing Camp lets campers obtain, understand, and apply these attributes, and live them out confidently in every aspect of their lives
The outdoors are not boring
The outdoors are one of the most entertaining, engaging, and wonderous environments in the world. Our campers are growing up in a world dominated by social media and screen time. While their are beneficial applications of technology to outdoor recreation, we teach campers with the ability to exist without depending on technology. Moreover, Fishing Camp equips students to be engaged by outdoor recreation, and do so safely and responsibly.
